Ha! I knew it! I have never really bought the argument that healthy food is more expensive. Sure you could show me 2 grocery store receipts and argue your point, but it's so relative.
When you choose the most nutritious foods over foods that are nutritionally poor, dollars become available. In other words, don't just start buying apples every week on top on your usual junk. Replace something you usually buy with apples. And for the record, processed foods can be pretty expensive themselves when you think about the quantity you are getting, how much that food actually fills you up, and how much it nourishes your body. All of the things should be considered when deciding the value of a food.
So anyways, a new report seems to agree with me. With some creative shopping and cooking techniques, you can start to see some savings, or rather added value, to your bill.
